Match: Body Count (2) vs. Orca FC (0)

After a short delay due to Orca struggling to get a team together the match began. Weather was normal (yippee!), Orca won the fame (+1) and Bodycount won k.o. and opted to recieve. With only Varag Ghoul-Chewer looking like the only threat I was confident of giving Orca a pounding. Wrong!!! My TG's decided to start blocking like a bunch of pansies, the orcs decided to take the iniative and Varag decided to destroy my team. My new star Throw-Ra, Vermuelen, was battered by a journeyman lineman (regen roll was made), Varag then dumped Scarab out (regen failed but just missed rest of this game) and followed that up with TG Mortis given a bloody nose(yes, another of those massive 4+ rolls on a TG, which was made). Things were not looking good. My ball carrier was put face down in the dirt and the ball scattered everywhere. Somehow, the ball ended up in Orca's half, team Orca was camped out in my half, my remaining TG's stood between the Orcs and the ball and I was relying on a skelly called Koma to pick the ball up and run for it with no RR's. After much pushing and shoving and failed pick-up's Koma picked the ball up and legged it to be an unlikely scorer for a very lucky Khemri team. The 2nd half was a bit of a disaster for Orca. A failed pick-up with a journeyman allowed me to put pressure on the ball and by turn 3 I had the ball in my boney hands and Vermuelen made a scoring debut. No casualties were caused although I was now embarking on a kill Varag mission with not much success, I hasten to add. As we kicked off for a 3rd time the heavens opened and down came the rain (I wasn't surprised at this) and the fans went wild as Dekker, the legendary ST2 skelly was given a run out. The game drew to a close with a Black Orc blitz on Dekker (who stayed on his feet, naturally!) and then returned the favour by knocking the BOB to the ground (naturally!). Sadly there was no casualty for him this time but the crowd loved it. Thus, the game ended. This was a mad game and Matt really made me struggle, the number of journeymen ultimately cost him as loner just wasn't working. Our next game will be interesting if he has all his regular players back, and hopefully no sign of Varag (I will get him next time!).

Match: Rotten to the Core (2) vs. Marsdens Mashers (0)

The Rotters turned up to the Mashers stadium only to find the Ogre brutes had cooked up tea! This kind gesture was the 1st of many offered by the Mashers over the course of the match. The others, however, weren't done on purpose. Nurvously shuffling, the brittle Rotters stood on the front line with 5 powerful Ogres in their wake. After a couple of his colleagues had forgotton quite what they were supposed to be doing, one Ogre, grinning, wound up and swung for the fences, but tripped and fell into the feeble outstretched arm of a rotter, knocking itself down and causing a turnover. A ridiculous move by Lassie saw him sprint into the opponents half, secure the ball and pass it back, over the line, to the Agile Rotter who caught it. The first (and most probably only) completion of the season for the Core. A long slow drive lead to a Core TD - despite some excellent break-tackling and dodging by the Ogres. Looking to tie it up before the break, the Mashers chucked a ball carrying snotling downfield into a scoring position. Were it not for a blitzing Pestigor taking the pip-squeak down and out it would surely have been a draw at half time. Second half was classic Nurgle. Slow drive, fending off rampaging ogres, leading to a TD for the 2-0 win. The real story of the 2nd half was terrible luck by the Mashers - Snotlings should be able to dodge from Nurgle Warriors, right? - leading to the introduction of the secret Giant Cup of Doom! which would herald a new dawn in Masher play-making. The resulting disasterous block (known as a Double Skull in the industry) lead to the Giant Cup being dismantled with the rather more effective Giant Hammer of Doom. To quote to manager - "F*****g Cup!" Oh and Burn - the popular Nurgle Warrior was killed...and failed to regenerate. He will be replaced.
